Connie was born May 1,1962 in Panorama City. She was the eldest of 5 siblings Luis, Ronnie, Arthur, Leigha. As a small girl she grew up in North Hollywood, CA on Hart Street with her mother Stella and her brother Ronnie. Later Connie’s mother Stella would marry Arthur Lopez. The pair got married and had more children. Art legally adopted both Connie & Ronnie. She was overjoyed and loved Art, she never called him anything else but dad.
Connie moved to Sylmar in 1969 and attended O.V Junior High. She then advanced and graduated from Sylmar High School in 1980. After high school, she began working at a nursing home caring for the elderly. It was in her nature to care for others as she did at home with her siblings and younger cousins. A few years later she starting to work at Kmart in San Fernando, boy did she love that job.
In 1982, Connie became a mother and had her first son Johnny Ray. This flowed so naturally to her. In 1985, she gave birth to her second son A.J. Being a mother was rewarding to Connie. She loved her boys with every bone in her body.
Connie would later met Danny Berzoza and those two were inseparable. They share 2 children together Jessie and Sara. As Danny became the sole provider, Connie became a stay at home mom. Connie loved family. She had 3 nieces Liz, Ashley and Brianna and 2 nephews Artie and David. She was a supportive, sweet and caring Tia. She took no greater honor than loving and caring for her “babies”. She loved music, dancing, cooking and family get togethers. Connie loved decorating and celebrating "ALL" holidays, her favorite was Christmas! She would buy extra christmas presents and have them just in case someone brought their child to her home & she would gift them with a bag of goodies. When her kids were little they played baseball. Connie was her kids league “Team mom”. She took great pride in buying and providing all snacks for the kids after their games. She knew nothing else other than to ensure everyone had a bite to eat. She loved watching old black & white films and would call her Aunt Carmen to talk about the old actors and music from the 70’s.
If you knew Connie, you would know that the girl was crazy. Crazy in the sense that she would randomly say what’s on her mind, crazy because she would stop to have a conversation with any person she came across and clearly because she had no filter. If you were around Connie your day would soon become interesting. She immediately cracked a joke or made sure she was comfortable in your car and play her Michael Jackson or Bruno Mars. At that point she would dance while in her seat and would not care who were watching. Connie’s life will soon be fulfilled when her son A.J and his wife Lily would welcome their first child Alena. Connie said, “ I hit the Jackpot ”!
There was no greater accomplishment and joy than being a grandma. Lily & A.J would later welcome 2 other children Aiden and Adeline. Connie lived fir her grandbabies.
Connie is survived by her 3 living children, 3 grandchildren, her nieces and nephew. She loved immensely. She enjoyed being a godmother to Luis. She found great joy in being a great aunt to Luis, Ariyana, Dylan, Jayden, Noah, Jocelyn, Juliet, and the newest addition Genaro, Christopher, Jaslene & Jayce.
She loved life, she loved her babies and family was all she had. She has now reunited in heaven with her husband Danny, her son Johnny Ray, her parents Art & Stella and nephew Artie. I can guarantee you she is playing her Michael Jackson ":Off the Wall Album" and is dancing her tush off. Be at peace Connie we love you !
