Carolyn Rose Baker, 87, passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on January 22, 2024 at her home in Burbank, California. She is survived by her brothers, Bernard [Carol] Baker, George [Maureen] Baker, and sister, Kathleen [James] Aagard, in addition to 19 nieces and nephews, 75 great nieces and nephews, and 57 great-grand nieces and nephews. She loved her family and was happiest when she was with them.
A graduate of Stanford University, Carolyn went on to earn two Masters Degrees as well as a her Doctorate Degree. Carolyn was a dedicated teacher and principal in the Los Angeles Unified School District, retiring in 2002. She loved her students and faculty.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many capacities throughout her life, including serving as a missionary for 18 months in Paraguay. Her favorite assignment was working with the children. She loved her Savior, Jesus Christ and was a beautiful example of His teachings.
Carolyn loved to travel and took the opportunity to visit many countries throughout the world. She found great joy in learning about new cultures and places, and sharing her knowledge and experiences with family and friends.
She had a love for life, family, adventure, education and serving others. Carolyn was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints,136 N. Sunset Canyon, Burbank, CA 91501
