William (Bill) Richard Vail went to his new home in heaven on April 8th to be together again with the love of his life, Mona. He was born on May 22, 1923, to Archibald and Elizabeth in Binghamton, New York.
Bill met Mona while he was stationed at the Burtonwood Air base in England after he was drafted into the armed forces. They married on November 11,1945 in St. Helens, England. He fell for her because of her beautiful red hair and her wonderful smile. They had 4 children, David, John, Brian and Patty, 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and their loving dog, Jessie.
Bill and Mona lived in Binghamton after the war and moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1965. Bill was a pioneer in the computer industry for General Electric and retired from City of Scottsdale. He was always amazed at how far technology has come today. They both loved traveling and went many times to England to visit family. They also went to New Zealand and Bill always said that was his best trip.
He was a wonderful loving father and a great friend to many. He will be remembered for his many stories and his sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by all who are left behind but he is happy again with his Mona.
A memorial to celebrate Bill's life will be held at his home on 3136 W. Belmont, Phoenix, Az 85051 on Saturday, May 27, 2017. This will be an open house from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
