Age 88, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away October 6, 2012 and began his new eternal life with his savior, family and friends. He was the son of Irish immigrants and was born and raised in Dunkirk, New York, along with two brothers and three sisters, where he met and married Gloria Ahrens. They later moved to Angola, New York where he served as President and Fire Chief of the Lake Erie Beach Volunteer Fire Department. Bill served two tours with the Navy, first during World War II and later in the Korean Campaign. In 1965 he moved his family to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked for the Prudential Insurance Company. He was a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus and served in the Arizona State Council Membership Drive. Bill was also a member of the VFW and the American Legion. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, five sons, one daughter, one sister, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, October 15th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301, with Rosary at 7 p.m.. A Mass will be held Tuesday, October 16th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louis the King Church, 4331 W. Maryland Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301, with a private interment to follow.
