She was born on March 12, 1931 in West Plains, Missouri to the late Lyman and Cecil Johnston.
Velma Lou was preceded in death by her husband Frank Eugene Holloway on November 22, 1996.
She is survived by a son, Charles, four grandchildren Sonya Faye Michaels, Guy Lee Persinger, Justin Holloway and Christina Jenkins, eight great grandchildren- Ben & Juli Michaels, Alexandria Owens, Chase Jenkins, Jordan Holloway, Sonora & Elsee Maye Persinger, & three great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents Velma Lou was preceded in death by a daughter Donna Jean Persinger, a son Frank Eugene Holloway, Jr, a brother Vibert “Doc” Johnston & a sister Velmas Lavonne Gaunt.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6-8PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 9:00AM at the funeral home, entombment will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
