Tom Fulghum, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024 at the age of 85. Born in Bisbee, Arizona, on January 25, 1938, he lived a life of faith, filled with service to God and to others.
Tom was known for his beautiful singing voice and ability to play every band instrument. He taught High School band and choir, impacting the lives of many students, and served as director, soloist, and participant of the Vozandes Choir for many years.
He gave 27 years of his life in service to the Lord in Quito, Ecuador and many more years after leaving the field. Tom held various leadership roles over the years with HCJB World Radio (now Reach Beyond) as well as served on the Board of Directors for various radio stations in Latin America. His heart was with the Ecuadorian nationals and was instrumental in the founding of ASOMA, a partner organization to HCJB run by Ecuadorians, as well as the CCC, a school of communications to train young Ecuadorian talent in radio and television.
Tom was loved by many and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his adoring wife of 64 years, Lois, five children (and spouses) - Rebeccah (Keith), Tom, Brian (Lori), Kevin, and Karen (Erik), seven grand children (Zach, Aubrey, Corey, Phoebe, Isaac, Dugan, Anika), and three great grand children (Madeline, Melanie, Amelia). "
A memorial service will be held at Glencroft Care Center, 8641 N 67th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85302, In the auditorium on February 17, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
