65 of Goodyear Arizona, passed away on September 24, 2015.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, dad, brother, uncle, friend, and servant of God. Matthew 5:4 “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” He passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully surrounded by an outpouring of love from his family and friends. He was 65. We find comfort in knowing that he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus and is now free of pain. He joined the Air Force after finishing school and served 4 years. He went to work for South Mountain High School as a security officer and while working there, he was strongly encouraged by community police officers to join the force. He served on the Phoenix Police Department for 26 ½ years and received numerous awards and commendations, retiring on January 24 2001. After retiring, he went to work for the Arizona State Department of Gaming and Casinos and soon became a supervisor for them. He retired from the Gaming Department in February 2015. A Godly man, he was very involved with his church at Luke Air Force Base, where he served as Deacon, usher, adult Sunday school teacher, children’s church teacher, and in addition, always found time to feed the homeless. Terry will be deeply missed by his wife Dee, as they spent 42 wonderful years together and were planning to start traveling in his retirement. Terry is described by ALL that knew him as a man of God, compassionate, loving, humble, respectful, polite, kind, and truly an example of how Jesus would want us to live our life. He is preceded in death by his mother Carlene his father Warren, and his brother Larry. He is survived by his loving wife Dee Morris (Allen), his sisters Beverly and Patricia, his brothers: Paul, Al, and Eric, numerous nieces and nephews, and many that knew him as Dad. The family would like to thank the nursing and C N A staff on the fifth floor at Banner Estrella Hospital for all of their kindness and care at such a trying time. Donations in Terry’s memory can be made to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org/index. A memorial service will take place at West Rest Haven 6450 W Northern Avenue in Glendale, on Saturday 10-24-15 at 10:00 a.m. Repast will follow immediately at the same location.
