Steve was born on October 22, 1958 in Wenatchee, Washington to Darrell and Esther Fisher. He went on to serve in the US Army 82nd Airborne. Following his military career he became a welder, then eventually went back to school and obtained a degree and became an electrician. In the most recent years he worked for VECA Electric as an Electrician and General Foreman.
Steve had two children, Stephen Dean Elsmer Fisher and Jennifer (Jenni) Nicole Fisher from a previous marriage. They were the center of his world! In 1997 Steve met the love of his life, Mary Helen Fisher, in a safety training class at the plant where they were both employed. They began dating and were married in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho in 2003. In 2022 tragically Mary was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor and passed away 3 months later. Steve spent the remainder of his years fighting his own cancer, while mourning the loss of his “Babe” Mary.
Steve was preceded in death by his father and mother Darrell and Esther Fisher and his wife Mary Fisher. Steve is survived by his two children, Stephen and Jenni; his five grandchildren, Haileigh, Jaxson, Cameron, Ezzy and Brayden; his three sisters, Kathleen Blair, Soni Fisher, Trish Wildfang; his best friend and brother-in-law Kevin Wildfang; and a host of nieces and nephews that loved him dearly.
In his final days, Steve was surrounded by his family providing love and support until his final breath, including Jenni, Stephen, Kevin & Trish, Cheri, Larissa & Zach, Devin & Jessa, Gail & Bill, Soni, Karmen, as well as his grandchildren Haileigh, Cameron, Ezzy and nieces and nephews, Amiya, Peter, Paige and Raelynn.
Steve was an amazing son, brother, father, “Papa” and man. His unique humor, courage, wisdom and strength will live on and on in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
In the words of Steve, “Uncle for Life!”
