Ruth Newton Lee, 96, passed January 30, 2016. She was born on December 31, 1919 in Naco, AZ to Charles and Nettie Newton. She graduated from Bisbee H.S. in 1938. During WWII Ruth worked for the War Dept., in Washington D.C. After the war she graduated from UofA with a BS in Education and from NAU with a Masters in Education. She received an UofA blanket for her achievement in several sports.
She was an amazing, loving, generous mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and she will be dearly missed. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Cletus Lee (Ted) and son Charles Lee (Chuck). She is survived by daughters Carol Boyd (Todd), Debbie Burns (Neil), Marty Flory (Al), Darlene Friedman, Sandy Willet and Judy Cirou.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 am with a funeral service at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave. Glendale, Arizona. A burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Ruth’s name.
