She was born Frances Ruth Warfel on October 15, 1924 in Fruita, CO to the late Harry and Bertha Warfel.
Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband Virgil “Vel” on July 11, 2007.
She was a wonderful wife, dedicated mother and cherished grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
Ruth worked as a cafeteria manager for 21 years in the Washington District School after her children went to school and she saved every penny she earned!
She loved being outside and butterflies, as you see a butterfly flutter by always remember the loving person Ruth was.
Ruth is survived by her three children Janette (Tom) Oviatt, Velda (Arch) Maddock & Robert (Mya) Johnson, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren with another one due in January and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 6-8PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 Northern Avenue, Glendale. Additional viewing will be held from 9-9:45AM just prior to funeral services on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 8602 N. 31st Avenue, Phoenix. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
