Roy Jacob Doris III, an inspirational, brave, and resilient soul, passed away on November 22, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on August 30, 1956, in San Diego, California, he was the cherished son of the late Roy Jr. and Beatrice Doris.
Raised in the Catholic faith in Southern California, Roy embarked on a journey with the military at the tender age of 17, which allowed him to travel the world. After a distinguished career, he retired as a Staff Sergeant from the Army in 2007. Roy then fulfilled his lifelong dream of becoming a trucker, traversing the vast landscapes of the country he loved.
Roy found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved the outdoors, where he could bask in nature's beauty and serenity. Cooking was another passion, allowing him to create and share meals filled with love and warmth.
Above all, Roy cherished the time spent with his family, where laughter and love were ever-present. His legacy of strength and inspiration will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his beloved children: Jennifer Ransom, Michael Doris, Joyce Doris, Douglas Doris, and Laura Doris. His legacy continues through his bright grandchildren, Kayla Ransom and Kailee Brown-Doris. Roy's siblings, Claire Breisacher, Therese Wheeler, Thomas Doris, Evelyn Doris, Mary Lee, and Donald Doris, along with many nieces and nephews, remember him fondly.
Roy will be laid to rest next to his wife Kimberly, who passed away in 2020, at a later date to be announced in Resthaven Park Cemetery. He will be remembered as a beacon of courage and a source of strength for all who had the privilege of knowing him
