He valued hard work, and kept himself healthy to continue his entrepreneurial efforts well into his retirement. He was generous in the care his family, neighbors, and friends. Throughout his lifetime, he spoke out against injustice and promoted the freedom of self-determination.
He is survived by his children Robert Jr. (Nevis), Luis, Elena, David, Carlos, and Adela, twelve grandchildren, Bobby, Irene, Alicia, Mario, Marylou, Pete, Patti, Christina, Robert, Carlos, Jamie, and Elizabeth, and many great and great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Felipa, two children, Maria Dolores and Carlos, his parents and siblings.
