Robert Eugene Sanders

Robert E. Sanders, (PA) was born August 9, 1930 in Phoenix, Arizona and passed away May 20th at his home in Phoenix. He enjoyed waterskiing and he skied on his 80th birthday. He loved going to the sand dunes and for many years kept right up with the younger ones. He just loved spending time with his family. He spent 35 years working at Caterpillar Proving Grounds, where he retired in 1986. He and his wife Shirley, of 62 plus years, spent a lot of time traveling in their motorhome. They spent a lot of summers on a beautiful lake in the Ozarks of Arkansas. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Bob Jr., (Christine); grandsons, Jarrod (Jeanine), Brandon (Courtney); his daughter Sally Winkelman (Ken); grandchildren, Brian, Greg, Kevin, and his daughter Donna Matthews (Mike), grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ben), Rebecca, and Elli (Jake); and great-grandchildren, Shane, Max, Kaiden, Peyton, Trevor, and Ryland. He was loved very much by all of his family and will be missed by all. His life was celebrated with services at West Resthaven Funeral on May 24, 2013. He is laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery, both at 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.
