My Tata Beto was a proud man, proud of his service in the Army & his heritage, but most proud of his family. He was loved dearly by our Nana Tula & his big family, we will all miss him very much. What a legacy he left here with the Flores family of a life well lived. I know your dancing up in heaven with my Nana doing the jitterbug!

Dad, now who am I gonna share BBQ with?  I'm going to miss listening to your stories, your sense of humor and wit, your mischievous chuckle and smile when you were teasing us and the little ones, watching westerns with you, listening (full blast) to Mexican music with you in the car and at your house when you wanted to play "just one more" for me, watching you and my mom dancing at one of your parties, having you take me out to your work shop to show me your latest project and explaining, with so much love, the hows and whys of it.  I'm gonna miss our breakfasts together, I know you always looked forward to going out to eat (I think that's the only reason you agreed to go to your doctor visits).  I was always amazed with your memory, how you remembered the names, dates and places of so many people and events that took place in your life.  It was like listening to an audio history book.   
I want to thank you and my mom for making us strong, hard working, good people.  I hope we lived up to your expectations.
I know how much you've missed my mom these last 9 years, and my one happy thought is that you are now going to be together forever.  I love you, Dad, and I'm going to miss you.

I know that you are up there dancing in the clouds. We will always miss you but you will forever be with us all in prayers, thoughts and actions. I hope that we all have made you proud.

My Tata Beto was the best storyteller. He always shared stories about his childhood and all the adventures he went on, some of them might not have been all rainbows and sunshines, but just the way he told his life to you, would bring a smile to your face. I would get so happy to go to my Nana Tula's house all the time because I was so ready to eat her food and spend some time with my Tata. He would always sit at the head of the table and tell you his life story. It would be hours after we had already finished eating and we would still be sitting there, listening to all his childhood stories. I could hear the same stories over and over and they would still be just as exciting as the first time I heard them. Words cannot even begin to express how much I am going to miss hearing all his life adventures. 

When my Nana got sick, he still stayed positive, even though he must have been sad about his wife. He stayed strong. That's who he was, I hear my mom talk about him and in just her memories about him, her stories with him, he's always been strong. He's always taken care of everything that ever happened, if something broke in the house or even just needed to be repaired, my Tata would fix it and build something to make it better. He was always building something new, that's what he loved to do.

I have so many memories with my Tata Beto and I just can't even begin to explain how much I will always miss him. Every time I watch an old western movie, I'm always going to think about him, any time I watch Old Yeller' or Cheyenne', I'm going to think of him. He introduced me those movies and he laughed with me, he talked to me, even though he couldn't hear a word of what I said, he always talked to me. I will never forget the day he touched my belly while I was pregnant and I will never forget the day when he met my daughter, it was such a heartwarming moment even though he shoed her away after her stinky fart.

I'll forever cherise each and every memory with you and I'll always miss hearing you tell me to "Stay in school, Little Guy."

Tata, you'll never guess where I'm at! The Dbacks game. We're playing the Dodgers and we're winning! I'm sure you know that though. Me and my nana are still gonna put out bets in Vegas. We're gonna go all the way! I know you're away now, but I know you're happy. I know Grand Nana is bugging you to drink water as she's drinking her beer. I know you're up there building a mansion with whatever type of wood you want. I know you're dancing away (after you drink the water of course). The last few days weren't the best, but I have the best memories with you, some that I know no one will have. From your last Disneyland trip, to you showing me one of your favorite English song. Not only were you one of the strongest people I knew, you made all of us strong. Through hard and scary times, your strength made us strong. We will stand together through this, so don't you worry. But I know you're not into that mushy stuff, so I'll leave it with this... I promise to always be brainy. Annnnnd, P.S. We won!

My Movie Star finally got her leading man back... 

Even though I tried to mentally prepare myself, saying goodbye to you is going to be tough.  You are the sweetest man I've ever known. The man I measure all men to, and the person that showed me that men can be both strong, and gentle. 
Thank you for always making me laugh, for singing & playing your guitar for me, for hugging me tightly, & always saying the sweetest things to me. For always walking me out to my car, and waving goodbye until you could no longer see my car in the distance. So many small things you did meant the world to me, even down to how you'd smile at me. 

I want to thank you for loving my Tia Tula so fiercely, and for being the shining example of what a soulmate and partner should be. 
When I become cynical, when my heart starts to harden, I will always remember you Tio. I will think about the time I asked you and my Tia how you make a marriage last, and how you know when it's real.
I will think about how you continued to love her after the good Lord called her home. And how you never once blamed God, but had faith that you two would be reunited someday.

If that isn't real love, I don't know what is.

R.I.P. Tio. Heaven got another great one, because you were more than the body that housed your soul, so much more. I love you, and it was truly an honor being your great-niece. 
Kiss my Grandma Lucy and my Tia for me, keep them company, and listen to the Mariachi's until I see you all again. My heart is sad, but I'm glad you 3 are back together again.
