Richard Smith

Richard was known to be a proud grandfather; he sincerely enjoyed serving the youth of his community. After 50 years with the Boy Scouts of America, he earned the Silver Beaver Award, commemorating his selflessness and dedication throughout the years. In his free time, Richard could be found reading a good book, hiking a beautiful trail, or taking in the great outdoors on a camping trip.

He is survived by his wife Judy Smith, sons Vaughn Smith, Russell (Cheri) Smith, Jeremy (Ruth) Smith, and Steven (Megan) Smith, eight grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and his brother Chuck (Doodle) Smith.

Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his beloved son, David Smith.

A visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 8702 West Campbell Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona 85037, beginning at 12:00 pm, with a funeral service to follow. A graveside committal service will take place at Resthaven Park Cemetery beginning at 2:00 pm.
