Richard Francis Fields

Dr Richard Francis (Doc) Fields passed away on February 1, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born in St. Louis and raised in Douglas, Arizona. Dr Fields was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Dordene Fields, and by his son, Rick Fields.

He is survived by his two children Gayle Wilcoxson (Don) and Tom Fields (Donna). He is also survived by his brother Mel Fields, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

Dr Fields received his DDS degree from St Louis University. He practiced dentistry for over 40 years and volunteered at Mercy Dental Clinic for over 30 years. He was a member of the Glendale Rose Society, American Rose Society, Valley of the Sun Garden Club, Glendale Optimist Club and Glendale Chamber of Commerce. Before retiring, his office had over 200 rose bushes that he maintained for the enjoyment of his family, friends, and patients. He was a member of Valley Boat and Ski Club and Desert Boat Club. His greatest joys were spending time with family and friends, boating, water skiing, camping and driving his sand buggy.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Glen Lakes Ward, 8840 North 61st Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85302 on February 11, 2017 at 2:00pm.
