Michael William Moore passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2024, in Glendale, Arizona. He was born on April 28,1950, to John and Anne Moore. He attended college at NAU and loved Flagstaff, Arizona. Michael owned a popular restaurant in Phoenix where he met his wife, Rosemary. They married on November 16, 1985.
Michael was a kind man with a big heart and a quick wit. He was an avid reader with extensive knowledge of history, politics, and sports. He loved family and friends, food, music, nature, animals (especially his dogs), sports, cooking, and wearing Hawaiian shirts. Michael also loved entertaining, especially at Christmas, for Super Bowl, and for St. Patrick’s Day. He loved traveling, especially to Greece, France, Italy, and Ireland where he immersed himself in the food, culture, and the people he met. He was also very patriotic. His spirit will live forever in our hearts.
Michael is predeceased by his father John, and is survived by his wife Rosemary, his mother Anne, sister Royce Moore Bourassa, brother John O. Moore, nieces Amy, Ashley, and Quinne, nephews Sean and Jason, and their families – all whom he loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary,
7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale AZ 85301, at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Michael’s name to the Humane Animal Rescue & Trapping Team (HARTT), 3241 E. Shea Blvd. #416, Phoenix, Arizona 85028; or online at the Tunnel to Towers Foundation which helps Veterans and families of fallen heroes.
