Mary Louise Odle passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at the age of 101 years in Golden Valley, AZ at the Bal-Tip Assisted Living Home, where she received excellent loving care. She was cared for by her daughter in Kingman for many years prior to needing skilled care. She is survived by her four children; Daisy Gardner age 74, Kingman, AZ, Charles T. Gardner age 73, Great Falls, MT, Robert Gardner, 72 Flagstaff, AZ, and Bernice A. Gardner, 69, Rogue River, OR. She left Texas to attend college, met and married a cowboy and cattle rancher, Kenneth C. Gardner from Hackberry, AZ who was the children's father and preceded her in death. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Mary's second husband Robert Odle, a rancher in the Kingman area also preceded her in death. Her stepdaughter Judy Weaver, Flagstaff, AZ, Robert's daughter, also survives her. Mary went back to college in the 1940's while raising the four children as a single parent, graduated with a teaching degree, and taught school until her retirement. Mary got her Master's Degree in Ashland, OR. She enjoyed playing bridge with her Oregon friends. She was an accomplished musician, loved dancing, was an avid sports fan and her husband Robert enjoyed going to the horse races during their retirement years in Phoenix, AZ. While ranching, Mary pitched right in and learned to ride horses, garden, cook for ranch hands etc. Always gregarious, Mary made friends easily and was loved by all who knew her. She will be buried next to her husband, Robert in Glendale on Friday, November 1st. Visitation will be from 9-11am at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave., Glendale with burial to follow at 11am at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.
