Marissa had the biggest heart and was such a great Auntie. Watching her play with her neices was one of the best things to see. She really showed our whole family a lot of love, even when we were far. Her vibe was always so fun and cute. I'd always tell her if I was in high school, I'd want to be bestfriends with her. I miss just hanging out and talking and laughing. Even through the hardest times, she could always make us smile and feel loved.

We all have the opportunity to engage, influence, encourage and support those we come in contact with.  In the little time Marissa had here on earth  she changed lives.  Her personality, energy and love for all was contagious.  Marissa had one of the most generous hearts I have ever known.  Marissa lived an amazingly full life.  I was so Blessed to have her in my life.  I will miss her the rest of my days!

Marissa was sunshine and rock n roll. A free spirited little hipster that brought so much joy and happiness into our lives. My family was blessed to go on many vacations together. Play games, swim, watch movies and hiking. Plenty conversations, stories and jokes. So many great experiences. She accepted and loved so many.  Incredibly grateful to have Marissa as my family and my friend. 

Everyone who got the honor of having Marissa in their life is beyond lucky. She was one of the most beautiful, (inside AND out) , people I have ever met. She was the little cousin who messaged me anytime something big was happening in my life to tell me how excited she was for me, and let me know what was going on in her life. I am saddened I will never be able to see her do all the big things she wanted to do, but I know I was blessed to have her in my life as much as I did and she lived  her life doing nothing but spreading love and positivity and I got to see that and feel that from her. I love you and am going to miss you so much Marissa 🤍

Marissa was my twin sister and my best friend. We’ve been through everything together. I was never alone because I had her. Marissa was so full of light. I miss her laugh and her smile. Nothing will be the same without her. I love you Tyjo 💗 

Marissa is one of the best people I have had in my life. So glad she was my sister as I got to be making memories with her all her life and getting to be joking on everything with her and our other sisters. As the older sister I did everything I could to protect and take care of her and Mariah but now Marissa will be the one to protect and take care of me. Love you so much marissa 🥺💕

this was taken during a mcteacher night during elementary. ive known the girls since 4th grade, and they've always been so kind to me. marissa and i have been friends since 6th grade and we were the best of friends !! she was always so kind to me, even when we did argue over something stupid. having marissa in my life was such a blessing, and i am so thankful for having her in my life, even if it was for a short amount of time. growing up with her from 5th grade to now, 12th grade, im so proud of her. she was a true blessing from the Lord, and she was such an angel. thank you for all the amazing memories we've made over the years, and thank you for being my angel when i needed it the most. i hope you're resting in paradise, marissa. i love you....so so so much <3

Marissa and her sisters would come visit every summer when they were younger. Each day with them was always full of laughter and entertainment. She will always be in our hearts. We cherish all the memories we got to share with her.  

She was soo Beautiful inside and out. So carefree. So unique.  Was trying to be soo independent.  So responsible. She was So giving. So loving. So cheerful. So grateful.  Soo much of Everything. This has truly been one of the hardest goodbyes I will ever have to say. I will truly miss opening the door to see that big beautiful smile. Feeling her hugs when she walked in.  That bright light that she carried with her lit up every room as well as every heart.  I miss you soooo darn much Rissa Roo!!!

My beautiful daughter Marissa ,   I miss you more than I can express, I love you more than you will ever know, my heart is completely shattered , it will never be repairable again!!! I am not ready to say goodbye!! I am so proud of you and all your accomplishments. You were going to graduate high school this year, I was going to cheer you on. You were so talented baby girl, I will see you in heaven again my little angel, mama loves you to the moon and back, to heaven and beyond. 😭😭💔💔♥♥

I went to her house that day because i missed her and her sister. Mariah, and we hung out front and talked while her dad was doing house work out front. i will always remember that day because i spent some if it with you! I miss and love you! 💗

Marissa meant the world to Uncle Tim and I!!  Marissa  brought so much joy and love to our lives - she was our Shining Light!!  Marissa had a beautiful, kind and loving spirit.  We are so grateful for the 17 years we had with Marissa but are heartbroken she won't be with us for the rest of our lives!!!    WE LOVE AND MISS YOU MARISSA!!!!!

Oh Marissa, this hits home dearly… I am so devastated and heartbroken. I am so very sad that I’ll be flying down to arizona not to visit you but to lay you to rest and say my last goodbyes. This was not what I thought the new year would hold but I am overly greatfull for all our memories. I met you when I was only 12 years old and the second I met you I knew we would be friends. You were such this giving and kind hearted beautiful soul and every person you encountered felt this. I love you and your sister with my whole heart and hope to see that beautiful smile once more. I’ve known Marissa since we were all kids living in the same neighborhood. I was best friends with her older sister Kenna and my little sister Isabel was best friends with Marissa and Mariah and we used to all play together. She was always so happy and bright and had such a beautiful soul ❤️ She will definitely be missed. Love you Marissa. 

I’ll never forget you babygirl. I think of you often and I love looking back at the photos I have of you and I enjoy seeing the beautiful lady you was growing into. 

Marissa was a very special girl.  Kind, giving, perceptive and extremely intelligent, beyond her years.  She had everything to live for.  Marissa was robbed of a life filled with happiness and joy.  It is an unthinkable tragedy for the Ward family.  My heart is with them for as long as it takes.  And beyond..

Regarding my last post, here is another photo of her :) 

I knew Marissa for about 4 and a half years, she was such a kind and light hearted soul. We were in percussion together through highschool until I moved away and when I tell you she was the most talented person i’ve ever met, I mean it.  Marissa had such a passion for music i’ll forever love, I remember trying to help her learn the “duck mouth” cadence on cymbals during marching band season. Her laugh and giggles while we practice will be something i’ll always think about now. Back when we were in our sophomore year I took a photography class during her lunch hour and would always try to find her and take shots of her, I found these photos on my SD card and wanted to share. I’m sending my love to the Wards and anyone else who knew Marissa 💕
