Ly Thi Gaubatz

Ly was married to Daniel Gaubatz for over 40 years before his passing on July 7, 2011.

She loved her family and many friends. Ly enjoyed fishing and gardening, especially growing her vegetables. She was an excellent cook. Her entire family looked forward to her egg rolls often standing close by to get them right out of the pot. She was a well-loved member of the Vietnamese community in Peoria, Illinois before her moving to Glendale. Ly was thankful for being welcomed into the Vietnamese Martyrs Church by so many parishioners.

Ly is survived by two children Mechelle (Jay) Roberts & Thomas Gaubatz, ten grandchildren Alexandria, Roberta, twins Jonathan & Peter, Tai, Lily, Kailyn, Daniel, Jessica & Brandon and daughter-in-law Mikyoung Oh.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lam Hieu Phung, and their son Lam Hieu Thuan (Joseph Ly Gaubatz).

Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 6-8 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 10 AM Vietnamese Martyrs Church, 2915 W. Northern Avenue, Phoenix. Burial will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale.
