Lawrence Alexis Rivas

Lawrence Alexis Rivas of Glendale, Arizona was born on June 27th, 1984, and entered eternal rest on April 12, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Lorraine Yazzie of Farmington, New Mexico and Ben A. Rivas of Mancos, Colorado., as well as his sister Delores Jackson.

Lawrence grew up in Farmington, NM and graduated from Farmington High School in 2002. In 2006, he moved to the Phoenix area. He worked as a carpenter then became an avid welder prior to becoming a full- time devoted father. He enjoyed traveling, hiking, and listening to music. Taking care of his family and his home was very important to him. Lawrence was a spiritual man and highly involved with the Christian education of his children. He was an active member of the Grace Ev. Lutheran Church in Glendale, AZ for 7 years.

Lawrence is survived by his life partner of 17 years, Nadia DeClay and their two sons, Aidan Alexis Rivas and Liam Axel Rivas. His siblings Gwendolyn Johnson, Sharon Lovato, Danette Johnson, and Leroy Johnson.

He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life Service, officiate by Pastor David Clark will be held on Thursday April 21st, 2022, at 11:00AM at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church 5600 W. Palmaire Ave. Glendale, Arizona 85301. A light lunch will follow the service
