Jose Pepe Ortiz passed away on December 15, 2022, with his loving family surrounding him. He was born on June 29, 1969, in San José de Peña, Guanajuato, Mexico to J. Pueblito Ortiz Calzada & Angelina Delgado Calzada.
Jose Pepe married Arlene Felix on February 28, 2009; they have shared almost 14 years of marriage however, they have been together since 1990.
He worked as a groundskeeper for over 20 years dedicating his life to Chicanos Por La Causa. Having to be demanded to take a day off work really explains the hardworking man he was. Anyone who knew him knew he was an amazing and loving soul. He cared a lot for his community and was always trying to help others in any way he could.
Jose Pepe was a loving son, husband, father, uncle, brother, friend, and Tata.
He is survived by his parents Pueblito & Angelina, wife Arlene, six children Fernando Mendez, Victor Felix, Armando Felix, Linda Felix, Joe Ortiz & Cindy Ortiz, five siblings Martin, Oscar, Leticia, Jesus & Juan, and several grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 5-9 PM at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Funeral services will be on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 1 PM, and burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
