John Tutell of Phoenix, Arizona entered into the presence of Jesus on April 8, 2024. He was born the son of Francis and Rev. Georgie Edna Tutell in Elgin, Illinois. His family moved to Phoenix in 1946, where he lived the rest of his life with his loving wife and family.
His Celebration of Life service is at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ, with his son Reverend J.D. Tutell officiating a service led by his family. There will be a visitation at Resthaven, preceding the service beginning at 12:00 PM.
He was happily married to his wife Merlyne Tutell for 60 years and 2 months.
John loved his family and his Savior Jesus. His profession was building and repairing heavy equipment and he was an artist at his craft. His hobbies included working on cars, working in his yard (which was often compared to a putting green), taking rides with his wife, and spending time with his family.
John and Merlyne were very active in several churches. In their later years, John and Merlyne were able to travel to the Holy Land of Israel with their church. They also made multiple trips across the country to see their daughter and family stopping along the way to see the sites.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Francis Jr., and George, as well as his sisters Anna, Florence, and Patricia. They were a special generation and are greatly missed.
John is survived by his wife, Merlyne, brother Michael of Phoenix, Arizona, daughter Merlyne (Michael) Miner of Malvern, Pennsylvania, his son J.D. (Linda) Tutell of Phoenix, Arizona, grandsons, Calvin and Christopher Miner, and granddaughter Sarah Tutell.
We cherish our memories of him and he will be greatly missed
