Joanne G. McKinney

Joanne was born to the late Betty and Calvin Groshong in Bell Gardens, California on June 13, 1960.

She was a devout wife and mother who lived for spending time with her family, and friends, and being in the beauty of nature. She enjoyed fishing and camping anytime she could get away. Joanne considered herself a “pro” fisherwoman with many baiting strategies that she was willing to share with everyone. She was most happy when she had all her kids and grandkids together. In her words” My heart is so full” followed by “My cup runneth over”. Joanne was a compassionate person and made sure everyone she loved felt as though they were family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten by all those she considered family.

Joanne is survived by her husband of 44 years Don McKinney, children Richard, Kristen, and Sarah, sisters Betsy Jobes, Skeeter Reed, and brother Pete Groshong as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.

The memorial service will be held with close family members and her friends present on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home. Following the services, there will be a celebration of life at Glendale Heroes Regional Park starting at 2:00 PM with a balloon release.
