Jane M. Randolph, 95, passed away at her residence in Peoria, Arizona on June 30, 2014 leaving a large family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and friends. She was born August 14, 1918 in Hayden, Arizona to Herman Douglass and wife Sarah Brock Douglass. Jane's father was a manager at a number of mines in Miami, Globe, and Hayden, Arizona. Her mother was a homemaker, raising Jane and her two sisters and two brothers. At an early age, Jane's parents moved to Phoenix where she attended Grace Court Elementary and later Phoenix Union High School. She attended Arizona State College, later to become Arizona State University, and left in her sophomore year to assist her father following the death of her mother. She continued to work in the Phoenix area where she met Martin Randolph, a Glendale, Arizona farmer, to whom she gave her heart and love as her husband until his death in 2007. She and Martin worked together in operating Clearfield Ranch, and in 1959, she returned to ASU and obtained her Bachelors degree in elementary education. Jane spent her teaching career in the Washington School district and retired in 1981 from Palo Verde Middle School. In retirement, she and Martin enjoyed traveling the US, many foreign countries, and entertaining friends and neighbors. Jane is survived by sons Phillip Randolph (Lynda) and Robert Randolph (Diane); grandchildren Jeffrey Randolph (Sheryl), Lisa Truelove (Sean), Michelle Whitney (Scott), Martin Randolph (Amanda), Jason Randolph, and Jennifer Vargas (Manuel). She also leaves eight great-grandchildren whom she loved very much. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; husband Martin; sisters Herma Kirby and Wilma Miller; and brothers Bruce Douglass and Robert Douglass. One grandchild, Marcy Randolph, preceded her in death.
Jane will be missed by all her family, and is now at peace. Funeral Services will be at Serenity Chapel, Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, 2300 W. Van Buren, Phoenix, AZ, 85009 at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 11, 2014. Interment will be at the cemetery directly following services.
