Jan William Simmons

Jan William Simmons, 81, of Avondale, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022 in Peoria, Arizona. He was born on September 13, 1940 to the late Albert and Verna (Daumen) Simmons in Buffalo, New York. He attended Yuma Union High School and graduated in 1958. He furthered his education at the University of Arizona, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematical Engineering in 1967. Jan worked as a Computer Programmer for Goodyear Aerospace/Loral Defense Systems and Lockheed Martin. He married Joyce Simmons in Yuma, Arizona in 1963.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, attending his granddaughter's softball games, and watching baseball and college basketball.

Jan is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Georgia), his son, Jeff (Kim) and a his granddaughter, Lindsey.

Funeral services will be held on Monday May 16, 2022 at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary 7924 N. 59th Ave Glendale, Arizona at 10am. A Graveside service will follow at West Resthaven Cemetery 6450 N.Northern Ave Glendale, Arizona
