James Wright, 76, passed away peacefully from Alzheimer's on April 12, 2025. He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Catherine, Stacy, his loving daughter with his first wife Patty, his sisters Ruth, Lois, Inez, and Esther, and several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his loving partner Sue, his devoted brother Dwayne, his grandchildren Jessica, Alexis, Joshua and Caleb, his great grandchildren Jacek, Tiffany and Danny, and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Stanton, Tennessee and raised in Peoria, Arizona. James graduated from Peoria High School in 1966 and lived in many Arizona cities over the years including Phoenix, Prescott Valley, Glendale, Wickenburg, Surprise and Prescott.
Jim "The Bug Man" owned and operated Wright Exterminating Inc. since 1972. His customers were his friends. He was generous, helpful, kind and very funny. He loved to tell jokes; Have you heard the one about the jump rope? Skip it.
His memory for dates was incredible. He loved landscaping and maintaining beautiful homes. Jim was the neighbor everyone talked to as they walked past his house while he was gardening. He loved listening to music and had a large collection of records and CD's. He loved watching sports, especially his Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals.
In later years, he enjoyed working less and traveling more, and taking many trips with Sue. He was a devoted father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at West Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 6450 West Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ, 85301, on April 19, 2025, starting at 11:00 am.
A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ, 85301, on the same day at 12:00 pm.
