Jim was born in Wyandotte, MI September 26, 1937 to Bernard Fagan and Eva (Bolton) Fagan. He was a resident of Glendale AZ for 44 plus years and was formerly a resident of Gibraltar, MI.
Jim was fondly known as Daddy, Dad, James E., Pops, Pa, and Papa Jim by his Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren. His Family was his Greatest Treasure. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Two of his well-known and beloved sayings were “May I make a suggestion” and “Where are you going to store it”. Jim had a talent for creating projects with wood and loved sharing his knowledge with Others.
Jim was a member of the US Army earning The Good Conduct Medal. He was a Field Wireman as well as a Sharpshooter. Jim received Basic Training at Fort Carson Colorado before being stationed in Germany. Jim was a Machinist, retiring from Allied Signal in 1999. Following Retirement, Jim spent the next ten plus years as a Shuttle Driver for a Valley Auto Dealership.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Carol Matson Brewer Fagan. His children: Sharon Matson (Brad), Linda Horstman, Timothy Fagan (Barbie), Amie Randall, Ted Brewer (Charlotte). Grandchildren: Shannon Sklut (Gary), Jonathon Matson (Tracy), Matthew Matson (Shannon), Micah Horstman (Trisha), Troy Horstman, Colton Fagan (Kristine), Callie Raines (Clayton), Amanda Roth (Chaz), Kara Mumme (David), C Burnes (Rachel), Jeremy Burns (Laura), and Katie Cox (Adam). Fourteen Great Grandchildren: Becca, Jackson, Kendall, Jaxon, Kaolyn, Parker, Liam, Beckham, Melody, Hunter, Caroline, Weston, and Leighton. One sister, Patricia Fagan Bennett.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Eva Fagan, Jim’s first wife, Judith (Amrozi) Fagan, Brother John (Jack) Fagan and Son-in-law Jeffrey Horstman.
A Memorial Mass Service will be held at 10:00 Am on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church 5510 W. Cholla St. Glendale, AZ 85304. Fr. Robert Skagen officiating. A Celebration Reception will be held following the Mass at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Matson 9134 W. Buckhorn Trail, Peoria, AZ.
