Harlo Mclain Thorley, 84, of Glendale, Arizona, entered heaven on November 9, 2022. He was born in Dallas, Texas, to John Glenn Thorley and Mable Thorley on July 9, 1938. Harlo was the youngest of 13 children.
His family moved to Arizona where he grew up and attended Peoria High School. It was soon after high school, he met Carolyn Mondo at a gathering at her house. He married the love of his life on November 15, 1958, at the First United Methodist Church in Glendale. Together they had 4 children, 2 boys and 2 girls.
Harlo spent his entire life in the construction field as a heavy equipment operator. He loved to get on any piece of equipment he could dig with or knock down a building. He also loved to travel all over the United States with Carolyn. They enjoyed camping and exploring. They would often take trips to San Diego and Rocky Point. Later in life Harlo and Carolyn purchased a fifth wheel and continued their travels.
He was the ultimate Diamondbacks fan. Harlo would attend games every year, including their world series. Over the years he collected an array of Diamondbacks memorabilia, including his pride and joy the Diamondback bobbleheads.
Harlo leaves behind his 4 children, Rick, and his wife Kathy, Beth and Kim; Janet and her husband, Mike; and Greg and his wife, Teri. As well as, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, including: Jennifer and Gary (Brayden, Bailey and Brooklyn); Ryan and Amanda (Beckett, Emersyn and Dawson), Karly, Kayla, Jacob and Micah, Brandon, and Alec. Harlo preceded in heaven by his love of 63 years, Carolyn.
A Memorial Service will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary, 7924 N. 59th Ave., in Glendale on Saturday, December 10th at 10am, with a reception to follow the service
