Gerardo (Jerry) Carpio Sanchez

Gerardo C. Sanchez (Jerry), 89, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2014 surrounded by family. He is reunited with his beloved wife, Beatrice, two grandsons David Jr. and Randy, a brother Alex and sister, Hortencia Balderas.

He was born December 29, 1924 in Sonora, Arizona to Jesus and Angela. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in New Guinea and the Southern Philippines. After the war, he began working for Reynolds Aluminum starting the day they opened and retiring the day they closed their doors 35 years later.

He was an avid bowler, loved watching sports and forever listening to Vince Gill and Big Band music

Jerry was a loving father, Tata, Tio and most of all a friend. He enjoyed visiting, telling stories and was always there for everyone.

He is survived by his children; David (Debbie), Geraldine Seeber (Richard) and Patti Schofield (Rex), 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren. He is greatly loved and will be forever missed.

Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 7924 N. 59th Ave, Glendale. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 visitation at 4:00 p.m. and services at 5:00. Interment shall be at The National Memorial Cemetery at a date to be announced.
