Evelyn Benton

Evelyn Benton, age 84 of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of St. Clair, MO, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012. She was born March 19, 1928 in St. Clair, MO. She was the daughter of Clarence Melton and Mary Hobelmann Melton. On September 6, 1947, she was united in marriage to James W. Benton. They made their home in St. Clair until 1979 when they moved to Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim, daughter, Karen Williams and son James Benton Jr. She is survived by brothers, Merle Brown and his wife Donnetta of Union, MO. and Marvin Pennock and his wife Pat of Sullivan,Mo; grandsons, Kevin and his wife Karen Reeves with whom she made her home with during her time of illness. Craig and his wife Cami, Reeves, and Steve Reeves; three granddaughters, Lisa, Misty, and Amanda Benton; six great grand children and two great-great grand children; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, November 26, at National Memory Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
