Esther Parra

She was born in East Los Angeles, California on September 15, 1927. Esther was one of seven children born to the late Louis and Mariana Alvarez.

She married Adolph Bernal Parra on August 5, 1944. They shared 61 years of marriage prior to his passing on November 7, 2005.

Our Mom was a special lady, she had a radiance about her that was infectious. Her quirkiness endeared her to all that knew her. She considered us her “jewels” and loved dressing us up for the world to see. Her family will continue to try to make her proud of us. Rest in peace Mom, Grandma, Aunt Esther and give Dad a hug from all of us. Love you forever.

She is survived by her seven children Helen (Bud) Johnson, Rose Marie Maese, Lydia Santamaria, Adolph (Gina) Parra, Pat Stackus, Marie Ann (Mario) Fuentes & Gina (Joey) Saenz, 23 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, her four brothers and two sisters preceded Esther in death.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 9AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale. Burial will follow in Resthaven Park Cemetery.
