Elsie Hernandez, 53, passed away peacefully at home on January 21, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 10, 1965 in Phoenix to Irene Regalado and the late Seferino Regalado. Elsie was raised in Guadalupe and was very active in her community. She danced Ballet Folklorico for 10 years and it gave her the opportunity to travel, even being able to dance at the Vatican in Rome for the Pope. She loved to travel with her family and especially liked going back to San Antonio to visit with her extended family. Elsie and her husband Ron took many trips to San Diego, which was a favorite vacation spot, she was happy to go any time just to enjoy the ocean.
Elsie loved being a housewife and raising her boys. Even though she worked at the beginning of her marriage, Elsie later chose to stay home and help her husband with his business by taking care of all of his paperwork and billing. After her children were in school, she worked with the Deer Valley School District and enjoyed the interaction with the staff and the children. Elsie loved being around people and hostessing events any time she could. She loved shopping and visiting with her family. Her grandchildren brought her so much joy and she loved having them around. Elsie will be missed by many people including her family and friends, but mostly her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Elsie is survived by her loving husband Ron, her sons Marcus (Sierra) and Steven, her grandchildren Hayden and Jaxson, step-sons Jay and Andy, step-grandchildren Noah, Shay, Seth, Jayce, Rush, Benjamin, Shandiin, Jonathan, Rickki, and Haley, and her siblings Sally Osuna, Olga Garza, Diane Villa, Alonzo Ortega, Robert Regalado, Otila Gonzalez, and Rudolfo Regalado.
She was preceded in death by her father and her siblings Linda Villa, Oralia Garza, and Raul Regalado.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 7-9 PM at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 5614 W Orangewood Ave, Glendale, AZ, with interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
