Elaine Kay Hunter

Prominent musician, singer and teacher entered into eternal rest on Friday, November 4th, 2011. Her educational background included a full academic scholarship to the LaMont School of Music which is a division of the University of Denver. She also received a Masters of Music degree from Arizona State University. Elaine was a music Director at a number of Churches and was a professor of music at Southwestern College for 16 years. She also formed a number of traveling groups that sang in many Southwest area churches, and performed for many special occasions. Mrs. Hunter is survived by her husband William of 56 years, daughters; Deborah Dashney and Laura Hunter, grandchildren; Rochelle Dashney, Jonathan Hunter, Crystal Dashney and Alexandria Hunter. She was preceeded in death by her son Mark and granddaughter Tifanee. A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 20th, 2011 from 7pm to 9pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301. Funeral Services will be conducted on November 21st, 2011 at 1pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home with interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery, Glendale.
