Helen married Robert Swadley, her teenage sweetheart, on June 15, 1961. They have shared over 62 wonderful years of marriage. Helen held a real estate license alongside her husband and was the co-owner of many successful businesses.
She loved classic cars, antiques and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She enjoyed researching her family history and spending time with her family & friends.
Helen will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and kind heart as she touched the lives of many with her warm smile and compassionate nature. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Helen leaves behind her husband Bob, daughter Sandy (Marc) Hacker, son Robert (Lolita) Swadley Jr., & daughter Kathie (Jonathan) Dalton, six grandchildren and their spouses, nine great grandchildren, sister Dianna and many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at The Swadley Family Home; 6721 W. Evans Drive in Peoria to honor Helen’s memory as family and friends gather to share stories, memories, and pay tribute to a life well lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made in her Honor to the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona (AZkidney.org) or please contact the family directly if you would want to donate to the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR.org) where donations will be made in memory of Edith Helen Johnson Swadley, Chapter #8022AZ. These organizations held a special place in Helen’s heart, and your support will help continue their important work.
Helen’s legacy will live on through her family, the lives she touched and all the memories made. She created many traditions that will continue as her spirit lives on. Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
