Danny Lee Wheeler went to join his wife Brenda in Heaven on May 19, 2021. Danny was born on June 16, 1956 in Wichita Falls, Texas to parents Billy and Christine Wheeler. He is survived by his mother Christine, his daughter Krystal Wheeler, step-daughter Shannon Hess-Jacka, granddaughter Vada Sue, sisters Brenda Wheeler, Nancy McSorley, and Patricia Wheeler, and brother Rick Wheeler. Danny was preceded in death by his father Billy and his wife Brenda Sue Wheeler.
Danny moved to Arizona when he was very young and Arizona would remain his home for the rest of his life. Danny truly loved his wife Brenda, and his love for her was so great that when she passed in 2005 he was never able to fully recover from the loss. In recent years though he was able to spend time with his granddaughter, Vada, and that brought him great joy.
Danny loved fishing, camping, and going to the beach. He was a really funny guy and loved to joke around and dance like a praying mantis. He loved his white ’83 Monte Carlo, for which he had a personalized front plate with Danny & Brenda on it. A simple man, once Danny got into a routine he never stopped. Danny never missed a Sunday phone call with his best friend Dale and even though they talked every single week the two of them would spend four hours on the phone.
His favorite saying was “you can’t hurt steel” and although he was strong as steel he was also loving and caring too. Danny will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to a viewing being held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at 8 AM followed by funeral service at 9 AM both at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ. He will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery.
