I am forever grateful for Charles Pearson aka Pops. He and mom opened up their home and heart to this nerdy kid so many years ago and gave me a second place to call home.  He taught so many lessons that he had no idea he was teaching like how a real man shows up for his family.  My favorite thing about him is that he had jokes for days and not the corny dad jokes. They were usually at my expense, but he could take as much as he dished...another life lesson he didn't even know he was teaching.  Pops created an environment of fun and acceptance at his home and we could always count on him to let us know what was going on in our community at all times. Thankful for all the love, kindness and memories. I know you are in a beautiful place surrounded by all the best technology, and using your heavenly scanner to keep your family safe. Love you. Rest in peace. ❤

My sincere condolences to my family members (Cousin, Cheryl Gipson-Thurman and family, Carnell, Charnelle, Cherrelle, Drae and Marcus).  Charles may be absent from the body but he is present with the lord and being loved as he keeps an eye out for his family here on earth. Mr Pearson, you showed me what a real dad was supposed to be, you were hilarious, loving and a great supporter. I still remember you playing your computer games. I remember how you and Mrs Pearson would take my sister and I to dinner with your family because you knew we didn’t have those opportunities. Thank you for being an example of how a father should be, thank you for loving my lifelong friend and thank you for being simply wonderful. I pray you rest in peace and know how loved you truly are.
