Charles W. Green

84, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on February 19th, 2014. A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Charles was born in Fairbury, IL on March 12th, 1929. He joined the Army at the age of 17 and rose though the ranks to become a full Colonel and was awarded the Bronze Star. He served in both Korea and Vietnam. While maintaining a military career he had a banking career as well. Charles retired in 1990 as a Vice President of Bank One. He was a graduate of ASU earning a degree in business. He met his adoring wife, Sharon at the bank where they both worked. They were a happily married for 51 years and had two children, Kathryn Hanke and Richard. Kathryn gave him 2 grandchildren, Shawna and Ricky Hanke. Richard and Debbie gave him a grandson, Matthew Green and two step grandchildren, Anthony and Raena and 2 step great grandchildren Marcus and Aubrey. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 from 6-8pm at West Resthaven Funeral Home 6450 W Northern Ave, Glendale AZ 85301 with services on Thursday, February 27th, 2014 at 10am with interment to follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery (Glendale).
