She was quick to smile and was around so many years after my uncle passed away

Mom was truly one of a kind! Her and my Dad worked hard to provide my sister and I with a life of faith, love and friends.  Even though we did not have close related family growing up in AZ we had a huge family of friends.  I will forever cherish all the good memories with Mom and Dad as a kid.  I am so thankful we had so many years with Mom after our Dads passing. She had such a gift of listening, helping others and making me feel special.
I miss her and know she is with us. I love you Momma!! Ox


Ann is an inspiration to women ... she went to school and had a robust career and raised a family. Things weren’t always easy for everyone but knowing Ann was knowing a woman who was always interested in what others were doing and learning. She never stopped learning and playing and being a terrific role model for me and my mom and daughter. You deserve heaven Ann. Say hi to Pa Al and Gramma Mary for me!  

Anne was my uncle Ed's wife and even though she lived in Arizona she visited us in Western New York I'll always remember her white hair and the big smile she always shared with everybody I'll cherish those memories of those smiles John and Kim McCormick

The McCormicks and the Murphy’s vacationed together at Mission Beach. Patti and I were young, probably 7 or 8. Patti and I were playing out in front of the condo our families had rented when a car raced up in front of the condo, and according to our mom’s, almost ran Patti and I over. Our moms were in the kitchen doing dishes and witnessed this through the kitchen window. Those two moms threw their dish towels down and confronted that young driver before he could get out of the car. While these two moms were chewing him out for his reckless driving, his mother came out and got into their faces. The three mama bears yelled at each other for a while, but by the end of the evening those three were sitting on the beach wall sharing a drink and some laughs. 😊

On a lighter note.... Ann and my mom we’re best friends. Two Irish women who knew how to have fun.! A couple of years ago, Ann was a patient in the hospital I worked at. I went to visit her, Patti was there. While we were talking the nurse came in to take her health history. I offered to step out and Ann said “I have nothing to hide from you two.”  Patti and I started talking while the nurse asked Ann questions. When she asked if Ann had any tattoos, Ann hesitated. Patti and I stopped talking and looked at her. She replied “if I do have a tattoo, your mother talked me into it.” Quick wit 😊

Patti and I were 11 years old playing Man From Uncle and spying on her mom and my grandmother talking in the kitchen. I overheard my grandma say that she told my brother our mom was going to die. I was very upset and locked  myself in the bathroom. Patti was upset and got her mom who came into the bathroom, held my hair why I threw up, and spoke to me with kindness and honesty about my moms condition. She then took me to her home and provided me with a refuge from the sadness and chaos in my own home. I will be eternally grateful to her. The world is a better place because she was in it ❤️
