Jackson, Anita Inez passed away on April 17, 2014. Inez was born October 19, 1917 in Clovis, New Mexico to John and Bertha Whitaker, parents of five children. Inez' school age years were spent in Glendale, Arizona, graduating from Glendale High in 1935. She married the love of her life on Christmas Eve that same year and immediately moved to Ajo, Arizona where Bill went to work in the New Cornelia Phelps Dodge mine. Ajo was their home until Bill's retirement when they moved back to Glendale to spend their senior years, sharing time between Glendale and Pinetop until Bill died in 1993.
The two important aspects of Inez' life were family and God. Inez and Bill were charter members of the First Southern Baptist Church of Ajo, serving in many leadership positions. When the doors of the church were open, they were there, probably opening up the doors themselves. They continued to serve God when they moved back to Glendale in the First Southern Baptist Church of Glendale. Prayer and Bible study as well as regular church attendance when physically able remained a key factor in Inez's life. Inez had great love for her parents and brothers,John and Ray and sisters, Nita and Corky, communicating with her siblings often. All preceded her in death. She missed being able to share with John and Corky about what was going on in their lives and their children's lives. Inez was the proud mother of Dr. Michael Jackson (Carolyn) and Roger Jackson (Linda) and loved telling people about her doctor and principal sons. Grandchildren were special to her, valuing the time she could spend with grandchildren Peter Jackson, Julie Bolding, Josh Jackson, Robby Jackson, Krysten Jackson, and Kevin Jackson. She also was a great grandmother 8 times. Mom, Grandma, and friend will be greatly missed by us all. Rest in peace and fry those trout that Bill caught today.
Funeral Services were held, Tuesday, April 22, 2014, 2:00p.m. at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave. Glendale, AZ 85301.
