To know Angel was to love him. While no words can ever capture how big his heart was those that knew him knew and admired the type of life he led. Angel was loyal, generous, thoughtful, funny and full of love. He made friends everywhere he went. It was an ongoing joke he could not go anywhere without running into someone he knew or starting a conversation with a stranger who turned into a new friend. He had a special way to make you feel welcomed and like you were family.
Angel was a proud, loyal employee for Cox Communication for 13+ years. He truly enjoyed his work as a Field Technician as it allowed him to meet and talk to new people while helping them along the way. He was always willing to go above and beyond not only at work, but in all aspects of his life. Angel loved to spend time with his family and friends. His love language was definitely helping and giving. When he offered to help you, it was sincere and coming from a genuine place in his heart. Helping others gave him joy.
When Angel was not working, he was spending time with his family and friends. He loved watching UFC and going to different sporting events, especially football. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention his obsession with the 49ers. His love for them went deep! One of his final trips was taking a boys trip to watch the 49ers play in San Francisco with his two sons- a trip that made him so proud to be able to accomplish.
Nothing made him happier than having his friends and family over for a meal. He was known for being the grill master! He was so proud of the home he built, especially his backyard- grilling for his loved ones was an opportunity he never passed up. Traveling was a big passion of his. Every chance he had he was ready to take a new adventure. He loved planning his annual family vacations. He cherished every moment and was the first one taking pictures of everyone (even if they were not the most flattering at times!)
Angel is survived by his father, Frank Gomez, brother, Ernest Gomez, beautiful wife, Josefina Gomez, five amazing children: Chris, Ariel, Nayeli, Johanna, Xavier and two sweet grandkids, Melody & Anahis.
Although not long enough, Angel and Josefina were blessed to share 19 wonderful years together. Angel was a great husband and father. His wife and kids were his world. From day one, Angel knew he wanted a big family. He stepped up to help Josefina raise Chris and Ariel when they were only 11 and 6. He loved and treated them as if they were his own- in his heart they were his. His family was his pride and joy.
Angel was truly the best husband, father, papi, friend, son, brother, and compadre in the world. His presence will forever be missed.
