Andrea was a beloved wife, Mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, whom was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Eliodoro. Also, by her parents Marin and Jovita Villarreal, as well as her 5 older siblings, brothers Nicholas, Anastacio, Guadalupe, Fernando and sister Paula Pinedo. As well as a step-son, Robert Velasquez. She also lost her 4-legged sidekick of 16 years, Hillary in November 2022, who was Mom’s little guardian.
Mom is survived by her 4 children. James, Danny, Sylvia and Rick. Three grandchildren, James Jr, Jonathon, and Jennifer. Also, 3 great grandchildren, Jacob, Mateo, Diego, several step grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Our Mother was born to Jovita and Marin in New Braunfels, Texas on March 15, 1937. Her family then moved to Arizona in 1939, settling in Litchfield. After a few years her family moved to Glendale in 1946, where she and her older siblings continued being raised. She was voted Queen of the Fiestas Patrias in Glendale in 1953. Eventually, she married in 1957, and soon thereafter started her own family. After a while, Mom and Dad purchased a new home in 1971, and moved their family to Peoria where she resided ever since. After a few years, she began her career in 1976 with the Peoria Unified School District where she went on to work for 20 plus years before retiring in 1998.
Mom was a strongly religious person and believed strongly in her Catholic faith, as she attended OLPH and St. Charles Catholic churches. Mom also, strongly believed in family, whether her immediate or extended. She also, enjoyed cooking for both family and friends, and was called upon many times throughout the years to provide her signature dishes at gatherings and celebrations. Our Mother really enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, nurturing and helping raise them along the way. When it came to Christmas, our Mother was Christmas, in our family. She loved to watch her kids and grandkids open gifts, and cook tamales and menudo, for everyone.
Mom also “loved” her Phoenix Suns and eventually, the Arizona Cardinals. She really enjoyed going to the various casinos with her family and friends, which fit in nicely with her night owl lifestyle and enjoyed listening to music.
Our sweet beautiful Mother, Andrea, will be deeply missed by all those whose lives she touched, and by all those who loved her.
Rest in Peace, Mom. We will always Love You.
