Amy Marie Daly Hintz

Early Sunday morning, April 30, 2017, our beloved Daughter, Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Sister, Favorite Aunt Amy, and Friend, Amy (Daly) Hintz lost her courageous battle with cancer. She passed away at home, under Hospice of the Valley care, surrounded by her closest loved ones. Amy went to spend eternity with our Lord; she was taken way before her time, at 64 years of age.

Amy was a life long resident of Arizona, born in Phoenix to parents Glen and Ann Daly. She was raised in Winslow, Arizona and was a graduate of the Winslow High School class of 1970. She lived most of her adult life in Phoenix and had recently retired from APS, having spent more than forty years as part of the APS family.

Though she experienced more of life's trials than many, she always faced and overcame them with her relentless optimistic outlook, determination, and great sense of humor. She had found lasting happiness during the last years of her life with husband Mike, children, grandchildren, and family.

Amy was one who made friendships easily and leaves behind many long time friends, as well as colleagues from APS. Since her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her mother pursuing her most recent hobby of painting.

Amy's departure was preceded by those of father Glen Daly and brother Dennis Daly. She is survived by husband Michael Hintz, mother Ann Daly, daughter Tara Clark, grandson Ryan Prewitt, brothers David, John, and Joe Daly, sister Kathleen Daly, stepdaughter Nikole Lyon and husband Dustin, grandson Mikey Lyon, granddaughters Rease and Reagan Lyon, stepson Robert “RJ” Hintz, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her memorial service is planned for 11:00 am, Tuesday May 9, 2017 at All Saints Episcopal Church, 6300 N Central Avenue, Phoenix, AZ. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 pm at West Resthaven Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ.
