After high school Alice moved to the big city of Minneapolis where she worked as a telephone operator, saving her money and traveling to tour Europe and later Asia. Alice was introduced to her future husband, Clinton Lapp by a friend. Alice and Clinton were married June 30, 1966 and later moved to Phoenix where their son Donald Clinton Lapp (AKA Mo) was born in December 1969. Sadly, Clinton passed away in October 1984. Being a strong independent woman, Alice continued to lovingly raise her teenage son and worked full time. Alice enjoyed adventures with her son, travelling to see the sites of Phoenix and beyond -all throughout the state of Arizona. Alice maintained her sense of humor, her strength and playful nature as long as she was able. Alice’s friends tell stories of the humorous pranks she used to play on friends, and her always smiling face. Alice’s love for everyone she encountered was obvious when she “God Blessed” them when parting. Alice was a talented seamstress, making clothes and gifts for family and friends-even the check out clerks at her favorite Safeway store. Alice’s talents also included the numerous handmade and embroidered quilts, her delicious baked goods and her proliferate garden.
Alice lost her battle with terminal dementia on April 11, 2019 and is reunited with her beloved husband and family. Alice will be sadly missed by her son Donald, his fiancée Karen, her granddaughter Brieanna and many close family, friends and neighbors. We love and miss you, Alice.
