I have SO MANY fond memories of my Uncle.  One of the best is the year he climbed up on the roof at Christmas stomping around so we knew that "Santa" was here!  The Baca Christmas traditions were ones I will never forget.  The summers with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins, the trips to Legend City, weekend swap meets in the heat, swimming in the back yard pool for hours on end.  The year I jumped in at Christmas when you told me not too.  My Uncle was one of a kind!  He was flashy, handsome, funny, talented and stubborn!  I can hear him playing his keyboard and singing his oldies.  

One of the last things my Uncle said was on Thanksgiving day.  He said:  "I love the wind in my hair and the bugs in my teeth.  You know where the bugs come from right?  From me smiling all the way down the road.  I have been riding since I was knee high to a grasshopper."  I did not know that would be our last conversation Uncle.  I love you beyond measure and have peace knowing you are exactly where you have wanted to be for so long!  Your are with my Auntie Susie most likely singing her songs and dancing on the clouds.  Rest easy Uncle, we got it down here, we will see you when we see you.  Keep riding with the Angels and be sure to give Auntie, Grandpa and Loren a big hug from me. 

Alex was my childhood friend.  He was our local get us in trouble friend.  I will never forget his smile and friendship. Our condolences to the family Rip Alex.  Say hi to Susie and your dad

So many memories growing up with the Baca Family.  Alex was always about his family and protecting his 3 girls.  He had such a passion for singing that he would make you believe you could sing too! I will never forget him raving how he made the best hamburgers.  Would tell me it’s the worcestershire sauce you put in it that makes it! I hold so many cherished memories with Alex and the family.  It gives me comfort to know he will be with his Susie in heaven.  Love and hugs to his family.  Lifting all of you up in prayer 🙏🏼

My Puppy (grandpa) was truly one-of-a-kind. Growing up, Puppy was the funniest, coolest, most fun grandpa a little girl could ever ask for. As a young girl, I remember being so excited every time I got the chance to spend the night at Nana and Puppy’s house. During these sleepovers, I couldn’t wait to jump in Puppy’s pool with him and play “Stone Man”, to watch tv with him, to laugh at the freaky way he would push his bottom dentures out of his mouth because he thought it was hilarious to give us a scare! Puppy would always wake me up early in the morning to watch him feed the birds. He went out every morning to add feed to his homemade bird feeder (he was a remarkable woodworker by the way) and to this day, when I hear those birds cooing, I think of him. Though, my absolute favorite part of spending the night was getting to have a “Puppy Breakfast”. He made THE BEST breakfasts, with all the works. I have fond memories of Puppy taking me around the block on his motorcycle and squeezing him so tight while we road, because I didn’t want to fall off. Christmas will not be the same  without him hear to sing “The Christmas Song”.  I have so many incredible memories of Puppy and our times together, I could go on and on.  I wish I had more time with him. His passing was so sudden, I wish I had the chance to hear that voice and see that Puppy smile just one more time. 

Puppy, while this world seems quieter, emptier, slower now that you’re gone, you will always live on in my memories of you. You will always remain in my heart and I am overjoyed at the thought of you boogie-ing in the sky with Nana to all your favorite music! I will miss listening to you singing and playing the keyboards. I will miss your voice. I love you, Puppy. Until we meet again.

Alex Baca is my grandpa, but is known to all his grandkids as Puppy. My Puppy was an extraordinary man. He was such a creative and unique spirit - from calling his pantry where he had all the snacks his “goody barn,” to creating games to play with us grandkids such as “Stone Man” in the pool, to his jokes of how he wanted his eggs cooked (one over easy, and one easy over). He was one of a kind, and I was very blessed to have him as my Puppy. I am beside myself to think of life without him in it - to call up and have him say “hello Ashley Janae Baca!!” or go to breakfast at Denny’s with. He loved spending quality time with his family and friends. If I learned anything from this experience, it’s to spend more time with loved ones, because life is shorter than you think…I’ll always miss my Puppy, but I take great comfort he and my Nana are up in heaven watching over us. I love you Puppy, forever in my memories and heart! L.O.L (lots of love)
