After graduating from Lexington High School in Missouri he left to serve his country at war and was fighting in the Pacific Theatre during World War II on an LCI ship, as Quarter Master. After the war he returned to Kansas City. He was married to Mary Y. Hoffman for 64 years, before her passing in 1987. He is survived by his sons, Thomas Hoffman of Kansas City, and William Hoffman of Kansas City, MO; a daughter, Martha Sanchez (Arturo) of Overland Park, KS; and one granddaughter, Christina Sanchez. His eldest son, Gary, passed away in 2011.
Wilfred worked mostly for Motor Equipment Company in Kansas City, MO for over 30 years before retiring to start his own tool repair business and Sharpe Spray Gun sales. He enjoyed playing golf with his buddies over many years. He was also a long standing member of Antioch Community Church in Kansas City, MO.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the White Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 6, 2014, at Antioch Community Church, 4805 NE Antioch Rd, Kansas City, MO 64119.
