Vicky is survived by her mother, Patricia Batye of Chillicothe, Missouri; sister, Sharon (and husband Jim) Pilcher of Mooresville, Missouri; daughter, Marcy (and husband Donald) Key of Purdin, Missouri; daughter, Tammy (and husband Aaron) Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren, Christopher Featherston, Peyton Featherston, Grahm (and wife Yadira) McCracken, Chandler Griffith, Cole Jackson, and Chloie Jackson; and great-grandson, Nicholas McCracken.
Vicky is preceded in death by her father, Charles Batye and sister, Teresa Anderson.
Vicky was graduate of the Class of 1970 at Chillicothe High School in Chillicothe, Missouri, and was an Assistant Vice President and Senior Financial Service Representative at Citizens Bank and Trust. Vicky joyfully served at Citizens Bank for 37 years where she built long-lasting relationships with co-workers and clients and received many accolades and awards. Vicky was a friend to everyone she met. She was a jokester and loved to play pranks on her co-workers and family. She was always cheerful and could brighten up anyone’s day. She will always be remembered as a kind, funny, and hardworking leader at Citizens Bank.
Vicky was a member of the Kearney Rotary, where she had a profound desire to help those in her community. She was passionate about fundraising, collecting donations, and making gift baskets, and each year she would try to outdo in generosity what she offered the previous year. Her actions resulted in hundreds, perhaps thousands, of dollars in donations to the Rotary Foundation.
Vicky was also a member of the Kearney Chamber of Commerce, where she was the representative for Citizens Bank. She won a “Business of the Month” award twice. When earning her first award, she gave a presentation in which she pretended to have the ability to hypnotize everyone in the audience. For the second award, she played a ukulele and sang about Citizens Bank. On both occasions, Vicky had her audience in stitches. Vicky’s charisma is unforgettable. She could light up a room with her smile and charm, and she excelled at making other people feel loved and valued. Vicky’s life was a wonderful gift to her family, friends, co-workers, and everyone who had the privilege of meeting her.
Memorial donations made be sent to either the Kearney Rotary at PO Box 697, Kearney, MO 64060, or to the Kearney Chamber of Commerce at 455 Sam Barr Drive #103, Kearney, MO 64060.
Vicky’s family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City and Saint Luke’s North for their extraordinary care of Vicky during her final weeks and days.
