Prayers to Tom's family and friends.  I knew Tom from the bookstore industry.  He served as my rep for many lines in my time with Nebraska Book Co and as an independent bookstore manager over the past 25 years.  I will miss catching up with him at CAMEX and through emails.  RIP Tom!

TW, you were my best friend, I learned so much from you and will miss you till I see you again, I am still sick as I couldn’t travel however watched and listened to your funeral and what a beautiful job Debbie and kids did. Faith, Family & Friends is how you lived your life and  love you for that, knowing each other for 38 years plus I have great memories, Dave O, Dave Mac playing golf at Bay Hill, playing golf with KA, Doug Johnson, playing poker on a school night till 2 am and still be at a show at 8, boating with Bo at his lake and at table rock lake, a leader you are, a teacher you are as demonstrated in your children. We all adore you and especially Debbie. I cheer a Natty Light to my dearest and best friend, with much love, Jim &Gigi Knox. 🙏⛳️🍻😊🥃

My time working with Tom was sadly too brief but absolutely enjoyed the couple years that I did have the pleasure of knowing him. Was always great to see him at a show or a customer meeting. 

He was such a genuinely happy person who loved life and his family.  He always had a smile and a story to tell. 

He will be missed.

I remember driving to Richmond with grandma and how she LOVED cousin Tom.

My memories of Tom go all the way back to childhood in the 1960's - our family road trip from New Jersey to Richmond, Indiana to visit cousins Gayle and Tommy and swim at the Splash Club. Then there were the Washburn Family Reunions at Pipestem (1974?) and Fish Creek, Wisconsin (1996) - oh, what fun we had! 
Together with my sisters Susan and Jane, we send love and sympathy. I will miss you, Cousin Tom.

My deepest condolences to Tom's fiance Debbie, the children, and the entire Washburn family. Tom and I have been friends since we started working together as territory reps at Dennison National over 35 years ago.  From there we both moved on to ICS where we continued to work in the college bookstore industry. Though he was in Missouri and I in Michigan, we still managed a deep friendship that would last to this day. He was a very special friend who I will miss greatly. I will forever cherish the memories we made and so thankful for those last 2-3 phone calls I was able to have with him near his last few weeks of life. To no surprise, Tom was as upbeat and positive in those phone calls as he always had been throughout our friendship. While Tom left us way too early, I think we can all agree that we are all better off for knowing him. He truly is an inspiration for me. I will miss my pal, but I will always have our memories.
Rest in Peace Tommy. I will see you again someday.

My condolences to the Washburn family and his lady friend for the last several years. Tom was the best in the business.  Well liked by all his colleagues, a true professional in the bookstore industry for over 30 years. He was cordial to all he met and he had many life long friends in the business.  He will be missed by all.

Well #1 I am sure going to miss you! We always had an inside joke... his nickname was #1 :-) Years of him taking first place in sales! 

He was always easy to laugh( such a jolly laugh too) ,  had a huge heart and really truly cared about people.  He was an amazing friend. 

I am very thankful to have known such a special person.

Tom was my college store rep for the past 16 years, and was the ultimate professional, always taking care of his customers and responding immediately to correspondence.

My heart goes out to his family at this time of loss.

Tom and I particularly bonded over racing, since  I am a lifelong race fan and my husband worked in the auto racing industry. I will always think of Tom in "the Month of May", as the lead up to the Indy 500 is known in racing circles. 

I will really miss working and talking with you Tom. Until we meet again...

I will always treasure our friendship and fondly remember all of the College trade shows, meetings, etc.  That will be great for some good laughs!  You were someone everyone should aspire to be like... the world would be an amazing place.

We will miss our friend Tom. It was our privilege and blessing to have had the opportunity to work with Tom for so many years. He was such a positive person and someone you could always count on to help you. We will do our best to honor Tom’s legacy as he was the genuine article.

My heart goes out to Tom's family.   He was my trusted college store salesman for over 36 years.  Not only that, he remembered the milestones in my personal life and shared some of his.  I'd welcome another "one more thing" push he usually had for me to get an additional sale.   It usually worked!  I respected that.   I will miss our meetings.
