Sylvia Kathleen Parker

Sylvia Kathleen (Swinney) Parker, 67, went to be with the Lord November 27. She was born December 7, 1946 to Helen (Stauch) and Les Swinney. She spent some of her childhood in Washington, Florida and Independence, Missouri and ultimately graduated from William Chrisman High Sschool in 1964. For the past 13 years, she resided at Harrisonville Health Care Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. Sylvia had a funny, outgoing personality and enjoyed listening to all types of music, but her true love was being a homemaker and mother. She was extremely giving and unselfish, thinking of others constantly. Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Dianne Smith and Roxanne Wilcox (Charles); grandchildren, Nicholas Smith, Michelle Smith, Alyssa Wilcox and Taylor Wilcox; one great-granddaughter, Delilah; and brothers, Mike Swinney and Dan Swinney (Cathy). She is preceded in death by one son, Jesse Parker, and both of her parents. Visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 AM, with funeral services immediately following at White Chapel Funeral Home in Gladstone, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Harrisonville Health Care.
