Sheryl Lynn Harkness

SHERYL L. HARKNESS (TERRY) of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on January 15, 2018. She was 72. Visitation 10 a.m. with a funeral service at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 20th at D.W. Sheryl was born on December 3, 1945 in Sedalia, Missouri to Laurence and Edrie Terry. She graduated from Northeast High School in 1963 and Park University in 1994. She was an English Language Learner teaching assistant for the North Kansas City School District until her retirement in 2013. Sheryl loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was an avid Bridge and Scrabble player. She was also an active member of the Northeast High School 1963 Reunion Committee (the Fab 70's Group). Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents, Laurence and Edrie Terry and brothers Gene and Brooks Terry. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Blake Rooney of Fairway, Kansas, her daughter Sarah McGee, three grandchildren, Cameron, Evan and Maddie, sister Marilyn Kepple of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, sister Wanda Kays of Chillicothe, Missouri, brother Larry Terry of Independence, Missouri, sister Sharon Johnson of Independence, Missouri and her longtime beloved partner, Albert Vandendaele of Birmingham, Missouri, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
